Roles Available

We will also be casting an ensemble for singing, dancing, and some dialogue.

Many of the below roles will also be a part of the ensemble - the only characters who will definitely not be in the ensemble are Bernadette, Tick and Adam. The final cast size will likely be between 16 to 18 people.

The ensemble helps to fill smaller roles and to set the tone and the energy for the show, which is incredibly important.

NameGenderVocal RangeDescription
Bernadette BassengerMFA2 to E4Bernadette is a transgender woman who embodies Old Hollywood charm and wit. Tendency toward deadpan humour but able to dive into camp. Bernadette goes on an emotional journey over the course of the show and demonstrates immense sensitivity and heart. Part of the three principal drag performers. Any ethnicity. Anthony "Tick" BelroseMA2 to E4Tick has built an established career as a drag queen in Sydney, Australia. At the beginning of the show, he is contacted by his estranged wife, Marion, who asks him to perform his drag cabaret at a hotel in Alice Springs - and more importantly, to meet his 8-year-old son. Please note that due to thematic material and plot requirements, this role will be cast from auditioners able to convincingly portray a character of Asian descent. Age 25-40 (Likely sings with ensemble)
The DivasFF3 to C5Many of the powerhouse songs in this show are performed by The Divas, meant to evoke many of the iconic women of music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. These performers will also be a part of the Female Ensemble and may have featured roles elsewhere in the show. Any age
