Musical Theatre Courses Poster for Classes in Calgary

Continuing Education courses for Musical Theatre: Dance, Auditions, and Technical Theatre courses in Calgary

FRC is pleased to offer a series of courses aimed at adults who are passionate about theatre in the Calgary Community. Each course for adults will run over a series of classes for a total length of approximately 6 hours. Accessible and affordable, each course is only $60 for adults. Develop skills that will help you secure the roles that you want in the fanastic musical theatre opportunities that exist in Calgary.

FRC will be offering courses in Dance, both Jazz and Tap, aimed at helping participants hone their skills and nail that audition.

Also to help you nail that audition, FRC will be offering Audition Preparation courses, learning the best way to prepare for your audition.

Technical courses in Lighting, Sound, Set, Costumes, Props/Scenery, and Stage Management will round out the FRC offering in continuing development for Musical Theatre lovers.

Jazz for Musical Theatre

Jazz Dance for Musical Theatre in Calgary

Learn and improve a spectrum of jazz dance steps and techniques aimed at Musical Theatre styles. 6 week sessions to explore a new level of jazz that challenges and engages you.

Tap for Musical Theatre

From the fundamental basics to polishing your skills, 6 week sessions to bring out the Tap in you. Learn the basic terminology, steps and common combinations and build upon them to create more complex combinations.

Audition Preparation

Audition Preparation Course in Calgary

Learn what makes a good audition, how to pick a great monologue and song, and how to leave a lasting impression on the panel.

Perform a monologue and a song in a masterclass setting to help learn what to do - and what not to do. Great for beginners and also for anyone working on new audition material!

Although these courses are timed to lead up to an FRC audition, the topics and materials will be applicable to any musical theatre audition!

Technical Theatre Courses

FRC is pleased to offer a series of 2 week, 3 hour courses on various technical theatre activities applicable to Musical Theatre and all theatre, aimed primarily at participants in community theatre in Calgary. We present these on an ad-hoc basis so please let us know if you are interested in anything in specific.
